How to write notes consistently

Uploaded Image

You're in the middle of your online class, and you're having problem keeping up with the pace. It's laggy, and sometimes you can't hear the audio at all. It feels like you are doing nothing, even though you are currently getting all this information.

Or perhaps, you outright missed a lecture and need to catch up again.

How can you be more consistent in saving your school's notes?

Here's a couple of ideas!

  1. Know where the lecture videos are.

Since this worldwide pandemic began, schools have launched online classes en masse, since that's the only way for the schools to have a meeting together. Those online classes are likely to have a database of their lecture videos. Try to find it in your class's workplace. If you don't find any, try asking a classmate/professor where the lecture videos are.

If you did find it, that's great, but obviously you still want to write your notes. Which leads us to the next step...

  2. Make a catalog of all your subjects.

Documenting your subjects helps you to remember all the notes in your lecture. It's easy not to when you can just find all your information about your class in your school's online workspace, but it'll take a while to find it. Instead, why not store all your lectures in a notes app?

Note Canvas can help you store all your notes easily and conveniently. Here's a quick sample of what a typical school lecture structure would look like:

You'd have all your school notes under a category called "School Notes", and each subject also has its own category. Each subject category has its own canvas Instead of having to search through several pages in your school's workspace, all you have to do is make one click directly to your school's lecture and get all your notes regarding that topic immediately. How quick is that?

You can find out more about canvasses and categories in the site's FAQ

  3. Make it a habit.

While keeping a catalog of those notes can be satisfying, it can be easy to forget to do. Make sure it's a habit, or else those notes won't be useful in the long run!

Once you have done all those, it will be easier to do things like cramming, as all your notes are easy to reach.
